A staff member of Himalayan Dream Team will pick you up at the international airport for your transfer to the hotel. After breakfast, we'll take you on a tour of Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Boudhanath Stupa, all UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Durbar Square offers insights into the lives of royals in ancient times. Pashupatinath Temple holds great significance as a pilgrimage site for Hindus. Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world's largest stupas, are both iconic landmarks.At tour, we will gather with our fellow participants at our office to introduce ourselves and discuss your upcoming trip.
We will depart from Kathmandu by private 4W vehicle, heading towards Dhap Bazaar. The journey follows the Sunkoshi River, which merges with the Tama Koshi River ahead, forming the large Koshi River until we reach Ghurmi. Along the way, we will savor traditional Nepali food and continue our drive through dense rhododendron forests. The route passes numerous settlement areas before reaching Dhap Bazaar, a journey of approximately 7-8 hours. Once there, we'll explore the local bazaar and observe the lifestyle of the local inhabitants.
Today's journey continues along a dusty road to Sigane, followed by a bumpy trail to Jhapre. Jhapre is renowned for its exceptional vantage points, offering clear views of Everest (8848m) and Numbur Himal. We'll also visit local gompas and stupas.
We start early to witness the first golden rays of the sun illuminating the snow-capped peaks. The trek continues along a dusty road before ascending to Bhulbule. From here, the trail becomes steep, passing through rhododendron forests and small settlements like Lhamuje. Beyond Lhamuje, we enter a pasture with grazing yaks, cross a long Mani wall, and climb to Pikey Base Camp. We'll visit a Yak Cheese Factory and enjoy magnificent mountain views. Overnight stay at a lodge in Pikey Base Camp.
Our day begins with an early morning trek to Pikey Peak (4065m). We'll marvel at the gorgeous sunrise over mountains like Everest (8848m), Number Chuli (6959m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m), and more. After capturing these beautiful views, we descend to Junbesi via Lamjura, crossing many Mani walls and Chortens along the way. In Junbesi, we'll visit an old monastery and enjoy views of Numbur Himal.
Today is dedicated to exploring the village. We'll hike up to the Thuptenchholing Gompa, founded in the 19th century. The trail ascends along the Junbesi Khola to the Gompa, offering deep insights into the region's culture and religious heritage. After spending time here, we return to Junbesi.
We follow a descending dusty trail along the Junbesi Khola, crossing a steel suspension bridge to reach Beni Ghat. The trail continues with scenic views until we reach Phaplu. Here, we can explore the area and bid farewell to the Rolwaling region.
After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu, a journey of about 8-9 hours. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing or shopping for gifts and souvenirs.
